DIY Aesthetic Wall Collage

Ah, the classic photo collage. Whether you want to make a statement, showcase your friends and family, or bring your Pinterest-worthy aesthetic to life- this DIY such a simple, cheap, and effective way to bring life to a boring wall. In this post I will give a quick rundown of the photo collage I made and currently have up in my dorm room!

1) Select your photos. You can use photos from a variety of locations, including Google Images, VSCO, Instagram, and ones you take yourself. Personally, I use Pinterest for its easy downloading. Here is a link to the photos I used in mine:

2) Download. For most images, you should be able to right click then download it directly to a computer. On Pinterest, if you click on an image, then click the three dots in the bottom right corner. From here, you can download the image and it will save directly to your camera roll on a phone.

3) Print. There are many options with this step. I went to the closest FedEx Office store. There, you are able to select the size, type of paper, and finish. I chose a standard paper size on card stock, with a standard finish. Link to the FedEx Office platform:

4) Put them up! The possibilities here truly are endless. You can arrange it as a grid (like I did), or more of an organic gallery. You can also put it wherever you want! Mine is centered above my bed.

Tips for customization:

- use smaller, or larger sized photos (think about the impact you want to make)

- display in a random manner, or a shape such as a heart or smiley-face

- stick to a cohesive color palette for a more "designed" look

- mix and match photos with patterns, quotes, and people

- try to space apart dark photos so that they are balanced with lighter ones

At the end of the day, remember it's not about how straight you can hang photos on a wall, but what they represent. No matter what you print off and put up, make it YOU!

@jennamarcello Ahhh that is so exciting!!! I love how the simplest of elements can make such a big difference in a room! Also, I totally hear you with how amazing Pinterest is. You can create a board for literally any and every vibe, and bring it to life with a printer!

@kristinpage Thank you! I hear you- I also have a new collage starting with polaroids of my friends and I that I put on my wardrobe. I love how customizable and cheap photo collages can be, also how easily they can be tailored to evoke a certain emotion. This collage, for example inspires me to be a dreamy and take a breath when things get crazy!

I actually just made two wall collages in my room two weeks ago. It crazy how different my room looks with the wall collage, and I love it! Pinterest is awesome when wanting to design your perfect wall collage because once you pin one picture, multiple similar theme pictures come up after.

Your collage is super cute! When I was living on campus in the dorm I would create a collage with pictures of my friends, polaroids, and print outs of my favorite colors and things! I love how you pictured your own collage and how to create one! This is a super cute way to liven up a room, especially a dorm room in order to make it your own! I love your blog! Looking forward to seeing more of your content!
