Ah, the 90's. The decade of scrunchies, overalls, and fanny packs. Although diversity & inclusion in high fashion was definitely lacking, runway looks of the decade were still ICONIC. Let me share with you my favorite 90's fits that could definitely still be rocked today!
This minidress is giving me everything: the simple strap, chic neckline, contour boning, and lets not forget that Pepto Bismol pink!
Malibu Barbie who? This outfit. From the seamless color coordination to the 70's inspired top, I am OBSESSED with this look!
This body-hugging, cheetah print maxi dress is simple, elegant, sexy, and stunning all in one!
While this dress is bold and arguably unconventional, I love the overall aesthetic created by the lavender under the clear plastic-looking layer. Its giving me a very mean-girl-on-halloween-from-2004's-a-cinderella-story if you ask me...
Is she going to the beach? Is she going to bed? Is she Sharpay Evans? Lets forget the technicalities here because this look is serving all the right vibes in all the right places. Who could go wrong with this hot pink, fuzzy, matching Chanel set??
Now this just may be the dress of my dreams. The dramatic yet elegant neckline combined with the mini flare bottom and sleek color is stunning.
You'd be lying if you said this isn't the little black dress of your dreams.
Chanel did not disappoint with this swimwear look. The color, the matching prints, and of course the high wasted bottoms combine to form a look that owns the show!
Personally I've always been a fan of all things retro, especially fashion! Although the 90's are not my favorite fashion decade, I can still see influences from the decade that I implement into my own wardrobe. If you really take a step back, you can see that a lot of trends, especially those in clothing, are cyclical. That's the beauty with looking into the past: the possibilities are endless for what styles you can recreate and slay!
Thank you for allowing me to dedicate this post to some ICONIC looks, and I hope it has inspired you in some way. Whether it be going on your very own retro deep-dive, or taking some risks in your wardrobe, have fun with it! Never forget that the some of the greatest inspirations can come from what has already been celebrated.
@kristinpage Thank you so much! I completely agree and love the way fashion is going right now. I feel like we are constantly drawing inspiration from decades past and creating new trends from them. Side note: I am so jealous that you say your wardrobe looks like this post! I definitely need to do some more thrifting, my closet needs some vintage love!
I love this post and your blog! Styles from the 90's have remerged and have even evolved! Most of the outfits you posted in this blog are literally what I have hanging in my closet. I think its so interesting and fun how styles from the past have remerged in the present and will continue to in the future!
